As the year is rapidly drawing to a close, it presents us with an excellent opportunity to plan for the coming year. Now is the time to prayerfully consider what Father would have you do and start taking steps towards it. Over the years, I have noticed one big obstacle to doing this effectively is dwelling on the past. We get stuck on what we didn’t get done, our fruitless efforts, unyielding challenges, mistakes we make, missed opportunities, past failures and much more. And because these constantly play on our minds, it’s no surprise some of us don’t seem to move beyond that point. (more…)
Recently, I have been pondering on the concept of half-time, in sporting events, where the players have the opportunity to rest and recover from the previous half of the game. From what I have seen, it also gives the team the opportunity to regroup and strategise so as to make effective use of the other half of the game – with the view of winning. This got me thinking: If this is done in sports, could we perhaps adopt such notions for our lives?
Anyone who knows me knows that this princess loves to read. From the time I learnt to read, I would wolf down the contents of a book in a matter of hours. I remember the times in school where one book would go around the class and you literally had one night with the coveted item before it had to be returned.
