The Overcoming Emotional Baggage TM Initiative

Our Vision

To create a world of emotionally healthy individuals who are free to maximise their God-given potentials, fulfil their life’s purpose and be effective citizens in their 'worlds'.

Introduction

We firmly believe that the emotional wellbeing of a person plays an important role in their ability to maximise their potentials as well as live a successful and purposeful life. Sadly, the notion of emotional wellbeing tends to be neglected for various reasons. Moreover, it carries a stigma that people don't want to be associated with. Ultimately, people find it easier to brush their issues under the carpet. As a result, many are left to deal with their emotional challenges alone. This also means that they do not get the much needed support to help them overcome their situation, get back on track and/or get the much needed support to make a positive contribution in their 'worlds'.

Gladys Famoriyo (Chief Executive, Overcoming Emotional Baggage TM) states "Emotional issues have become the 'silent plague' that has affected our societies today. It stifles, if not thwarts, the development of people and has a direct impact on their ability to live authentic, purposeful, fulfilled and successful lives." She goes on to say "This far-reaching issue appears to affect people from all walks of life and its effects radiates through our homes, schools, workplaces, boardrooms, communities, nations and the world at large. We see it in the media - day in, day out. I believe it is time something was done about it. And that's why the Overcoming Emotional Baggage TM initiative was launched."

Hence the Overcoming Emotional Baggage TM initiative exists to accomplish the following:

  • Raise awareness about emotional issues and tackle the 'stigma' associated with it.
  • Educate the public about the importance of emotional wellbeing.
  • Provide services and products that adopt both restorative and preventive approaches.
